Meat Sushi
Part of the secret to eating healthy is proper portions, and it's difficult to do when cooking your own food.
Nothing is single serve, or if it is, it's overpackaged, overpriced, and overprocessed.
You also lose a LOT of convenience cooking for yourself... Making dinner for one takes just as much time as cooking for six. It's inefficient.
The trick, of course, is to pre-cook what you can eat in a week , and then assemble and finish when you're ready to chow.
So, I always have half-dozen or so cooked and seasoned chicken tenderloins in the fridge, ready to toss into a sandwich or wrap. This week, I also picked up some asparagus, and, since it doesn't last, I cooked it all at once, seasoned with garlic, salt and pepper, and tossed that in the fridge.
That, and having a bunch of new wrap bread around - and having too much sushi recently - led to the following, a bunch of rolled, wrapped, and sliced lunches and dinners.
