Ohiopyle

Today was mostly travel, from Cincinnati to Ohiopyle.  Nothing highly eventful, although the national scenic highway had some spectacular views.

I got to Ohiopyle State Park around 5pm, and after setting up camp, headed into town for supplies.

  

The town is exactly how I imagined from reading others descriptions.. It's heavily developed for bicycle trail riders, without losing the mountain town feel.

With weight loss comes a desire to improve my overall quality of life. I've been looking to outdoor activities to improve my fitness. I started jogging and running, but it's difficult for someone who is out of shape to begin running. I'm still too big, it's hard on my knees and body. It's also a little tedious.  There's a building. 10 minutes later, there's another building. Carabiner stuck in my derailleur. I got my bike out, and started biking, and found it much easier physically, and more exciting. Cold Brew Coffee

Cold Brewed Coffee I've been fooling around with a lot of different brewing methods - Pour over, Drip, French Press - and I've never really found anything I particularly loved.  I enjoyed some of the lighter blends, but I've generally found coffee too bitter to really enjoy.  Piling cream and sugar on helps, but only makes it tolerable. On a recent camping trip, though, one of the campers brought a mason jar of cold filtered coffee extract, and when time came to brew, she added 3 jars of hot water, and that little mason jar became a gallon of smooth hot coffee. I decided to try it myself - with winter coming, no better time to get into coffee brewing - and so picked up some hardware to experiment. After some trial and error, the result was several bottles of coffee extract, convenient and delicious, and mellow enough that I can drink it without cream or sweetener.
