GAP
My big bike/camping ride this fall is going to be the GAP - The Great Allegheny Passage. It's 142 miles, from Cumberland, Maryland to McKeesport, Pennsylvania, just outside of Pittsburgh. Built on abandoned railroad lines, it's mostly flat, winding through mountain towns and forests. I'm hoping to have the trip coincide with fall, and the leaves changing colors. One big stop along the route is near Ohiopyle State Park - Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, a mid-century-modern home that has been awarded just about every 'Best American Architecture' award. I'm looking at about 3.5 days of travel on the trail:
