Diet vs Exercise

Losing weight is 90% diet, 10% exercise.
A guy my size needs around 2500 calories a day to maintain his weight.
I can survive, and not feel too hungry, at around 1500 calories.
So, I can cut 1000 calories a day (7000 a week, or 2 lbs) by limiting what I eat.

A moderate jog might burn around 500 calories an hour.  So to match this weight loss in the gym, you would need to jog for two hours.  Every day of the week.

Put another way, a medium cheeseburger meal (Cheeseburger, med fries, medium coke) at mcdonalds is equivalent to about an hour and 45 minutes on the treadmill - 890 calories.
